"The False Rock of the Catholic Church"
THE TRUE ROCK
This letter is not being written with evil intent, quite the opposite, out of love and compassion to set the prisoners free. I willingly expose myself to criticism and disdain for people to know the truth. Truth does not come from only one man, church doctrine, or traditions. The truth comes only from the Word of God. Some church doctrines of the Catholic faith refers to Peter as the rock - upon which Christ built His church. Nothing could be further from the truth.
There are 250 references to rock or stones in the scriptures with all being symbolic of the Lord Jesus Christ. "He is the Rock of Our Salvation," "The cornerstone of our faith," "The stone that the builders rejected." In I. Corinthians 10:4 it states "...that rock was Christ." He was even the rock that Moses smote in the wilderness to bring forth water to give to millions of Israelites to drink.
The second time God told Moses to speak to the Rock, but Moses lost his patience and smote the rock again to bring forth water. That Rock represented Christ who came smitten the first time and then will come to rule from the seat of David. In Moses' disobedience, he messed up the stone symbolism and he was unable to enter the promise land. Now this confusion comes from a scripture in Matthew 16:18 where Jesus states, "That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church." Now the name "Peter" in Greek "Petrus" means little stone or better yet "a piece of rock." Jesus is dealing with an arrogant disciple, let Peter know that he was a little rock and then pointing to himself he said "Upon this Rock, Petra, (which means a big rock or solid mass), I will build my church.
From the crusaders to the inquisitions, and now sexual predators and their cohorts, the catholic church is crumbling. Foundations built upon man instead of God will always crumble. How does that old song go, "The world all around me is sinking sand, on Christ the solid rock I stand."
Knowing the numerous scriptures that reference Christ Jesus as the Rock, plus knowing the character of Christ, He would never have built His Church on Peter or any man for that matter !
