Let Go, My Child
My Father’s hand is holding me,
He faithfully carries me on.
But often I trip, stumble and fall
Over hindrances, mighty and strong.
Even though He’s holding on to me
He’s guiding my every step
I can’t walk strong and tall and sure
Because fears and doubts I have kept
Doubts, insecurities and pain
Fears that follow wherever I go.
They injure my spirit; break my heart;
I’m holding them and I can’t let go.
Then I hear His sweet voice speak
In tones of loving concern
“Let go, My Child, of these heavy weights.
You’ve got some lessons to learn.
This doubt and fear is holding you back.
Stealing your joy and your peace.
With your hand in mine, we’ll conquer each one.
Trust me! Let go! Just release!
Release your cares; your anger, your doubt.
Let go and walk on with me, Child.
There's work to be done in your heart,
We’ll walk on in My strength, every mile.
So much we can accomplish
With your hand safe in mine.
As you "let go and let God"
My desire for your life you will find.”
